Fletcher Prouty said:

"Stalin believed that the Churchill Gang had FDR poisoned and never forgave Eleanor Roosevelt for refusing to open the casket."

Many have disputed Prouty's account, but FDR's son was the original source as this article proves.

Greg,

Do you suppose Stalin was referring to the "Cabal" of which Churchill spoke, or was he indicating that Churchill himself was behind the death of FDR?

Good catch, Mark. I added the word "gang" to the original post. My error. Prouty indicated that it was a reference to the "High Cabal" of which Churchill had spoken. It was unclear as to whether or not the "Churchill gang" was that portion of the Sponsor Level associated with the power base of London or if it was more closely associated with Churchill himself. My sense is that it was the "cabal" and not the man.

Faye Emerson, saints preserve us.

Suspicions Stalin was poisoned.

Litvinenko and the Ukranian leader are the modern representatives.

Vis-à-vis the "Churchill gang" remark--

In Target: Patton by Robert Wilcox when FDR names Donovan, head of British intel Stephenson

(Intrepid)

remarked, "Good to see it's one of our own."

In our friend Guido Giacomo Preparata's Conjuring Hitler credit for the Reich's rise is given

Montagu Norman, head of Bank of England (1922-1944)

And of course Churchill had referred to the grand cabal
